Another Starbucks for Blackpool But This Time It’s in a Listed Building in a Conservation Area
A new Starbucks store might open in Blackpool on Talbot Square, on the ground floor of the old Clifton Hotel, which is now called Forshaw’s Hotel. Plans have been submitted to the Blackpool council as a request to get access to changes in the building, including new signs.
The statement also says that the building needs improvements so it meets the latest standards of Starbucks. That is why approval is required because the building which was built in 1865-1874, has a historic value, listed in Grade 2 in a protected area.
The application is asking some several signs like a big sign at the front of the building, a light-up sign on the east side (highlighted and attracted customers), two light-up letter signs on the north and north-east sides, and a round light-up sign on the north side.
Earlier this year, The council permitted to break an interior wall at the hotel and made new walls to separate spaces on the ground floor of the building. Starbucks would be the second famous place to open in the hotel recently. The first store was Turtle Bay restaurant which opened in the summer of 2023, Now the latest Starbucks opened on 21 June this year.
